New: Comenius Circle on Inner Development Goals

The new Comenius Circle on IDGs, open to members of the Dutch national Comenius Network, offers an inspiring network for professionals working on integrating the IDGs into their teaching or organisation.

The Circle is chaired by Linda de Greef, who, alongside Ilja Boor, was awarded the Comenius Leadership for the Empowered Minds project to implement affective learning, using the IDG framework, into 14 degree programmes at the University of Amsterdam.

Maria Garcia Alvarez “Give students the experience to explore the challenges linked to the SDG Agenda and define actions after they have been able to explore the complexity of the topic. Together with my coworkers, I developed The 4E Model, which integrates elements of Design Thinking and Theory U, to shape the journey of our students. We believe that in a VUCA (Volatile/Uncertain/Complex/ Ambiguous) and BANI (Brittle/Anxious/Non-linear/Incomprehensible) world, we have the responsibility to help our students understand the dimensions of awareness and move to new perspectives.”

Janneke de Ruiter “Students can come from diverse backgrounds in terms of expertise, personality, gender and nationality. These other perspectives can help students to be able to develop themselves into the future leaders we need, as long as they dare to be open, truly vulnerable and reflective. Intervision on Inner Development helps students to coach each other towards inner growth, as inner growth is crucial to collectively reach the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.”
