Sanli Faez

In my course for the Master’s programme in Experimental Physics, I combine developing technical skills for designing and running a scientific experiment from scratch with a tool for open collaboration and persuasive communication. Next to my work at UU, I am a co-founder of the Climate Helpdesk, where scientists answer questions from the public.

about the effects of climate change.

I am also a member of the Young Academy of the KNAW, where I try to contribute to the development of a science policy that meets the needs of the circular society.

I study the motion of ions and electrons at the nanoscale. I have developed an optical microscopy method that can accurately measure the rapid movement of small nanoparticles. By following the movement at the nanoscale of very small particles such as viruses or proteins, I want to use this method to measure reactions at the extreme limit of a single molecule.
