Meet up: Join the IDG education train to the IDG Summit 2024

on 14 & 15 October from Amsterdam to Stockholm

This event is organised by Transition Makers Wouter Buursma and Lucho Rubio from the Centre for Teaching & Learning at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

IDG Summit: The Space In Between

on 16 - 18 November 2024 in Stockholm, Sweden

Join a network of cross-sector changemakers shifting the narrative on sustainability and human development towards more hope and action by harnessing the power of inner development for outer change. Grounded in the 5 dimensions of the IDG Framework, experience a fusion of global perspectives from science, business, government, academia and the arts as we step into ‘The Space in Between’ – a place of unlimited imagination and possibility.

Meet up: ITD Conference in Utrecht

on 4 - 8 November 2024 from 9 AM to 5 PM at Utrecht University

We are happy to share that we will be hosting a Workshop for Changemakers at the Global Alliance for Inter- and Transdisciplinarity conference.

The theme of the conference is “Inter- and Transdisciplinarity Beyond Buzzwords: Educational Pathways for Sustainable Research Collaborations”.

The Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies and the Teaching & Learning Centre of the University of Amsterdam are the proud recipients of the prestigious Comenius Leadership Fellow Grant of the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research.

Linda de Greef and Ilja Boor were awarded the fellowship for the project Empowered Minds: Integrating cognitive and affective development in today's university education.

The grant will enable them to develop an Inner Development Goals learning trajectory to implement the IDGs into 14 Bachelor’s degree programmes at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and develop a university-wide IDG elective course, open to all UvA students.

Are you an educational professional at a Dutch higher education institution, and would you like to add a new tool to the Toolbox?

If you have a teaching or learning activity paired with an assessment method, related to societal transitions and one of the IDGs, that you would like to add to the Transition Makers Toolbox, this session is for you!

It could be a tool that is new to you that you want to start using in your education practice, or a tool that you are already working with and would like to share in and/or further develop for the Transition Makers Toolbox.

The first co-creation session will take place on 14 November from 9 am to 1 pm. The follow-up session is on 16 January 2025 from 1 to 5 pm. Both sessions will be held on-site in Utrecht.

Please note, it is important to know the source of the tool and to have permission to share the tool in the Toolbox.

This guarantees a key characteristic of our Toolbox: the material we will share in the Toolbox is open source.

This means that the tools we end up sharing will be accessible for anyone to use, redistribute, and modify at no cost.
