As an educational researcher and philosopher, I’m fascinated by learning objectives that are difficult (but not impossible) to teach. Can education make you more resilient? How to teach empathy? How do you learn to deal with uncertainty? This latter question, I investigated in my PhD thesis ‘Educating Uncertainty.’ The tool I contributed to the Toolbox is meant for students who want to stretch their attitude towards uncertainty.
As an anthropologist of violence and security and a legal scholar, we bring distinct disciplinary lenses to our collaboration. Through teaching and co-hosting Travelling Concepts on Air, we explore how concepts shape research and why interdisciplinary dialogue is essential for addressing complex challenges. These conversations allow us to question assumptions, spark new ideas and experience the joy and insight that come with working across disciplinary boundaries. 
As educators working with future healthcare professionals, we believe that professional and personal development stems from reflection and self-knowledge. We've witnessed how helping students develop self-awareness and reflection skills transforms their educational journey and professional identity formation. Identifying and challenging limiting beliefs is fundamental to authentic professional development. In our roles at SCOPE, we regularly incorporate these principles into our education, empowering students to make choices aligned with their authentic selves. 
Daniëlle developed a training programme focused on enhancing the sense of competence in future change-making professionals, specifically around sustainability. Witnessing those students challenge themselves and realising that situations they once found difficult or intimidating, are not as scary when armed with the right knowledge and practice, inspired us to become Transition Makers.
